Our Role: How We Do the Work

Newburyport’s DEI Alliance is a diverse group of members, representing diversity in race, gender, sexual identity, age and role in the community, with each member bringing a unique set of experiences to the Alliance. This diversity allows the Alliance to see a wide variety of perspectives, and work together to find best practices that will best serve the City of Newburyport at large. The group has been working hard to develop skills as individuals and as a group that will help foster the diversity, inclusion and equity work that they were tasked with. These skills include mindful listening, dialogue, and understanding how an individual’s past experience impact thier current experience.
